Our Partner Evaluation Methodology
Our Partner Evaluation Methodology
The promise of a seamless luxury charter experience in Indonesia rests entirely on the quality and reliability of our partners. At Private Charter Indonesia, we have developed a comprehensive, proprietary methodology for vetting every aircraft operator, yacht owner, and service provider in our network. This is not a simple checklist; it is a continuous cycle of auditing, verification, and performance monitoring designed to ensure that every partner meets the ‘Juara’ (champion) standard of excellence.
Our recommendations are earned, never bought. This page details the rigorous criteria and processes that underpin the trust our clients place in us when booking a private charter in Indonesia.
The PCI 360° Vetting Process
Every potential partner undergoes our PCI 360° Vetting Process, which evaluates them across four critical domains. A partner must achieve a minimum qualifying score in every category, with a heavy emphasis on safety and compliance.
1. Safety & Compliance (Weighting: 50%)
This is our non-negotiable foundation. We go beyond standard regulatory requirements to ensure a proactive safety culture.
- Certification & Licensing (Pass/Fail): Verification of Air Operator Certificate (AOC) from the DGCA, vessel registration with the Ministry of Transportation, and SIUP Pariwisata for tour operations. Any lapse results in immediate disqualification.
- Maintenance Records (Scored): Detailed audit of aircraft and vessel maintenance logs. We look for adherence to manufacturer-specified schedules, use of authorized service centers, and proactive parts replacement.
- Crew Credentials & Training (Scored): Verification of pilot and captain licenses (ICAO/IMO standards), flight/sea hours, type-ratings, and records of recurrent training in safety and emergency procedures (e.g., CRM for pilots, STCW for sea crew).
- On-Site Safety Audit (Scored): Physical inspection of safety equipment, emergency protocols, and operational procedures. For aviation, this includes ground handling and FBO relations. For marine, it includes life rafts, communication systems, and first aid capabilities.
2. Service & Asset Quality (Weighting: 25%)
This category assesses the tangible and intangible elements of the luxury experience.
- Asset Condition (Scored): Physical inspection of the aircraft cabin or yacht interior/exterior. We score based on cleanliness, upkeep, modernity of furnishings, and functionality of amenities.
- Crew Professionalism & Hospitality (Scored): Evaluation of crew’s presentation, communication skills (including English proficiency), and demonstrated commitment to high-touch hospitality. This is often assessed via mystery shopper-style trial runs.
- Catering & On-Board Services (Scored): Assessment of the quality, variety, and presentation of catering options, as well as the availability and quality of other on-board amenities (Wi-Fi, entertainment systems, etc.).
3. Operational Reliability & Local Expertise (Weighting: 15%)
This measures a partner’s ability to deliver a seamless experience within Indonesia’s unique environment.
- Dispatch Reliability (Scored): Analysis of on-time performance records and the operator’s ability to manage logistical challenges like slot restrictions at busy airports (e.g., DPS) or navigating changing weather patterns.
- Local Knowledge (Scored): For pilots, knowledge of remote airstrips and regional weather phenomena. For captains, intimate knowledge of local currents, anchorages, and marine park regulations (e.g., in Komodo or Raja Ampat).
- Ground Support Network (Scored): Evaluation of the partner’s relationships with ground handlers, port agents, and local suppliers, ensuring smooth transitions for our clients.
4. Sustainability & Community Commitment (Weighting: 10%)
We believe true luxury operators should be responsible stewards of the environment and communities they operate in.
- Environmental Policies (Scored): Review of policies on waste management, single-use plastics, emissions reduction, and adherence to conservation area guidelines.
- Community Engagement (Scored): Assessment of the partner’s commitment to hiring local staff, sourcing local products, and contributing to community well-being.
The Continuous Audit Cycle
Vetting is not a one-time event. Our relationship with our partners is one of continuous oversight:
- Annual Re-Audit: Every partner undergoes a full re-evaluation of the PCI 360° criteria annually.
- Spot Checks: Our team, led by experts like those on our Our Team page, conducts unannounced spot checks of assets and operations throughout the year.
- Client Feedback Loop: Post-trip feedback from our clients is a critical component of our ongoing evaluation. Consistent negative feedback on any aspect can trigger a full review and potential suspension from our network.
This exhaustive methodology ensures that when you charter through Private Charter Indonesia, you are not just booking a jet or a yacht; you are accessing the most elite, secure, and reliable luxury travel network in the entire archipelago.

Safety and operational integrity: Our non-negotiables
Imagine the scent of frangipani carried on a gentle breeze as your private jet descends towards a secluded island airstrip, or the soft lapping of waves against a hand-crafted phinisi as you awaken to a Komodo sunrise. Beyond the gleaming exterior of a private jet or the polished decks of a superyacht, lies the bedrock of our evaluation: an uncompromising commitment to safety and operational integrity. We delve deep into the mechanical and human elements that ensure every journey is not only luxurious but flawlessly secure. For aircraft operators, this means verifying adherence to global aviation standards such as the International Air Transport Association (IATA) Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) or equivalent national certifications from Indonesia’s Directorate
